Parking: Main car park near the playground
Meeting Place: Main car park at the end of Sanders Road (180-186), near theplayground. Look out for the Auckland Beagle Club flag. There are toilets here.
Route: Sanders Reserve has one of the few fenced dog parks in Auckland. It also has a lovely loop path with stunning views of the Waitemata harbor. The paths are mainly gravel and flat but there are a few moderate slopes. The reserve allows for mixed-use activities such as mountain biking and horse riding so everyone needs to be respectful of other park users. There is a fully fenced designated dog area which is off leash, but the rest of the trail is on leash.
Directions: From the Northern motorway take the Albany expressway exit and continue onto Dairy Flat Highway. Go through Albany village and turn left into The Avenue, which continues on as Paremeoremo Rd. Turn left into Merewhira Rd and left into Sanders Rd.
Walk Time: Approximately 60 minutes.
On leash/Off leash: This is an on-leash area outside of the designated dog park zone. Please note that the are no rubbish bins on this walk.
