Location: Sanders Reserve, Paremoremo,
Date: Sunday, 28 June 2026
Time: 10am
Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6cXaa5SVuUJVRg5Q9
Meeting Place: Main car park at the end of Sanders Road, near the playground as shown in the photo below. Look out for the Auckland Beagle Club flag. There are toilets here.
Route: Sanders Reserve has one of the few fully fenced dog parks in Auckland. The paths are mainly gravel and flat but there are a few moderate slopes. The reserve allows for mixed-use activities such as mountain biking and horse riding so everyone needs to be respectful of other park users. There is a fully fenced designated dog area which is off leash, but the rest of the trail is on leash. The walk has stunning views of the harbor and has a carved tree and seat known as the Seat of Life. There is also a small beach access point.
Directions: From the Northern motorway take the Albany expressway exit and continue onto Dairy Flat Hiway. Go through Albany village and turn left into The Avenue, which continues on as Paremeoremo Rd. Turn left into Merewhira Rd and left into Sanders Rd.
Walk Time: Approximately 60-90 minutes.
On leash/Off leash: This is an on leash area outside of the designated dog park.
Cup of Tea anyone? Can I please encourage you all to stay and socialize after the walk? The club will be providing free morning tea for members. Non-members welcome to join morning tea- $5 donation (or you can sign up as a member).
