Meeting Place: Car parking meeting area at Corner of Normanby and Clive Rds. The carpark is by Youthtown Youth Hub 36 Clive Rd. Look out for the Auckland Beagle Club flag.
Route: The Mount Eden walk goes to the summit of the mountain. Great views and a relatively easy walk -although there are a few steep parts so a moderate level of fitness is best. Mt Eden is the highest volcano in Auckland with a deep crater. The last eruption was 15,000 years ago so hopefully we are safe! There are toilets and a children’s play area.
Directions: From the CBD take Wellesley St E and Grafton Rd to Nugent St in Grafton. Continue straight onto Nugent St and at the roundabout continue straight onto Normanby Rd and left into Clive rd. Please note that you can no longer park at the top of the crater anymore.
Walk Time: Approximately 50 minutes.
On leash/Off leash: This is an on-leash area outside of the designated dog park off leash zone which is on the corner of Clive rd. see photo below.
