Beagle Walk – Sun 20th February – Riverhead

Location: Riverhead
Date: Sunday 20th February 2022
Time: 9.45am for a 10am start
Meeting Place: Carpark on Barlow Road
Directions: Click here to view the location on Google Maps
Parking: Carpark on Barlow Road

Meeting Place: There is a carpark on Barlow Road, in a layby- see photos on the right. Look out for the Club flag. Please note- there are no toilets here.

Route: Mostly dirt track and may be slippery in places if it’s raining. It gets muddy so will require boots in wet weather but running shoes mostly ok. Very scenic shady walk with soft trails and a glorious forest setting. The odd hill but mostly flat moderate level of skill required. The trail is shared with bikes and horses so keep an eye out.

Directions: About 35- 40 mins from the CBD. Barlow Rd runs off Ararimu Valley Rd (at approx. no 465). Depending on where you live, there are multiple ways to get to the forest. But for those of you who will be using the North western Motorway continue straight through the roundabout at the end of the Northwestern Motorway. After approx. 2km (after another roundabout) take a right onto Old North Rd. At the next roundabout continue straight (staying on old North Rd). Continue on Old North
Rd for another 4km then turn right onto Ararimu Valley Rd. After approx. 5km (about 465 Ararimu Rd) turn right onto Barlow Rd (it is easy to miss as not well indicated but if you hit Zanders rd, you have gone too far).

Walk Time: Approximately 60+ minutes.

On leash/Off leash: On lead recommended but is an off-leash area. Please contact Ray Linton Brown on 021618465 if you have any queries.
